Laurent Féral-Pierssens, CEO
Laurent is a seasoned Enterprise Software entrepreneur with over 15 years experience in the conception and management of technology companies in Business Intelligence, Social Media and Internet Marketing. Operating on both sides of the Atlantic, he has worked with the retail, telecom, banking and healthcare industries developing and implementing technology platforms to support marketing teams.
Prior to focusing on big data intelligence he did some groundbreaking work in speech recognition, document management, process optimization and email marketing. Laurent is also an avid photographer as well as a regular public speaker and university lecturer on the digital world. He has a dual Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from McGill University.
Bruno Leps, COO
Bruno has spent over 30 years in the development and commercialization of mass market and business digital products and services for Bell Canada, the Southam Newspaper Group and America Online (AOL) among others.
He joined the Silentale team in 2012 to work with businesses who want to leverage the huge opportunities that the continued growth of social media and big data represent for those that manage to effectively harness its marketing power.
Ata Mourad, CTO
Ata has 20 years of software engineering experience including enterprise software architecture and design. Having worked for the likes of Cognicase, IBM and Hydro Quebec he is a specialist in Big Data and Cloud computing. He is the driving force behind the development of the Silentale Platform and its core technologies.
Fabien Baunay, GM France
Fabien runs the company’s efforts in France where he is based. His solid management experience in the media and entertainment industries as CEO of Cellfish Media France and CEO of Havas Entertainment, in addition to 6 years running a bouquet of television channels as CEO of M6 Thématiques, plays a critical role in developing long-term relationships with industrial clients to integrate the challenges of data and analytics.
Prior to joining Silentale, Fabien founded and managed the Digital and Social Media agency Brandtainers which was acquired by Silentale in 2013.
Prof. Derek Ruths, Scientific Advisor
Derek Ruths is a Professor of Computer Science at McGill University. He joined the faculty in 2009 after completing his PhD in Computer Science at Rice University. A major research direction in his group considers the problem of characterizing and predicting the large-scale dynamics of human behavior in online social platforms.
His ongoing work in this area includes quantitatively modeling how communities change over time, measuring and predicting group demographics from unstructured user-generated content, and computational methods for assessing discussion topics within a collection of users. His work has been published in top-tier journals and conferences including Science, ICWSM, and PLoS Computational Biology.
Steve Peloso, VP/GM US
Steve is responsible for leading the company into the US market. His career includes over 25 years of professional service and consulting-related business development and operational experience in technology companies. He has held management-level roles in a diverse set of technology companies including Motorola ISG, Ascom Timeplex, NCR, International Network Services and Lucent Technologies. His experience includes developing and leading expert teams and fostering “greenfield” business opportunities in both nascent, start-up environments as well as Fortune 200 companies. The common experiential theme throughout his career has been the consistent focus on consulting and solutions development; helping clients define business problems, craft solutions and effectively use technology to improve competitiveness and efficiency.
